The agreement

In short: Using the service means you accept these terms.

These terms are a contract between you and CiteRank (citerank.com). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you are signing up for a company, you confirm you have the authority to bind it. If you do not agree with something here, the honest move is not to use the service, and we would rather hear why: support@citerank.com.

Your account

In short: Keep your sign-in to yourself and your details accurate.

You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in method secure and your contact details current. Accounts are for people and businesses, not bots reselling access. If you believe your account has been compromised, tell us right away and we will help you lock it down.

Trials, billing, and cancellation

In short: Every plan starts with a 3-day free trial, card up front, nothing charged until it ends, cancel anytime.

Every plan begins with a 3-day free trial. We collect a card when the trial starts, charge nothing until it ends, and charge the plan price on the first day after it if you have not cancelled. Plans bill monthly in advance at the prices shown on the pricing page.

You can cancel at any time from your billing settings. A cancelled plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for; we do not claw back the remaining days. We do not offer refunds for partial months, but if you think we got a charge wrong, email us and a person will look at it.

Plan limits and fair use

In short: The allowances on the pricing page are the real limits, plus an hourly cap that stops abuse without bothering normal use.

Each plan includes the tracked questions, monthly articles, brands, and backlink exchanges listed on the pricing page, metered per brand. Article editing and image generation are unlimited over a month but throttled per hour so one account cannot overload the AI providers for everyone else. Reselling allowances, scraping the service, or automating around limits is a breach of these terms.

Your content and what you own

In short: Your site stays yours, and every article we write for you is yours too.

You keep all rights to your website and everything on it. Articles that CiteRank generates for your brand belong to you once created: publish them, edit them, move them to another tool, or delete them, with no attribution owed to us. You give us the limited license we need to read your public pages, process your content, and publish to the destinations you connect, and that license ends with your account.

You are responsible for what you publish. Review is built into the product for a reason: AI-written drafts can contain mistakes, and the byline on your site is yours.

The backlink exchange

In short: Real links between real customer sites, and we remove anything that turns spammy.

The backlink exchange places links between consenting customer sites where the content is relevant. A live placement uses one slot of your allowance; if a link drops, the slot comes back. We may decline or remove placements that are irrelevant, deceptive, or harmful to the network, because the exchange only has value while the links are ones an AI engine can trust.

What we cannot promise

In short: We cannot guarantee that any AI engine will cite you, and anyone who guarantees that is selling you something.

ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI are run by third parties. We measure them honestly and give you the best-known playbook for winning their answers, but their output is theirs, changes without notice, and is outside our control. Most customers see first citations in 2 to 3 weeks; some take longer, and no specific result is guaranteed. CiteRank is a tool, not a promise of rankings.

Acceptable use

In short: No illegal, deceptive, or harmful content, and no using the tool against sites you do not control.

You may not use the service to publish content that is illegal, deceptive, infringing, or harmful, to misrepresent who you are, or to run checks and publishing against websites you do not own or manage. We may suspend accounts that put the network, our providers, or other customers at risk, and we will tell you why.

Ending the relationship

In short: You can leave anytime and take your data; we can suspend accounts that break these terms.

You can close your account whenever you like, and everything already published to your site stays there. We can suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms, with notice unless the breach makes notice impossible. After closure, data handling follows our privacy policy, including your right to deletion.

Liability

In short: The service is provided as is, and our liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months.

To the maximum extent the law allows, the service is provided as is, without warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, and neither side is liable to the other for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Changes to these terms

In short: If the terms change in a way that matters, we tell you before it applies to you.

We may update these terms as the product and the law evolve; the date at the top always reflects the current version. For material changes we will email account holders at least 14 days before the change takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new terms.
